The quality improvement of the Accounting Department at the Faculty of Economics and Business is determined by periodically adjusting the curriculum to align with developments in the Business and Industrial World. In this regard, lecturers from the Information Systems Division of the Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Riau, held a meeting to discuss the courses to be offered to students for the 2023/2024 academic year up to the next five years. The courses to be offered in the Information Systems concentration for the Accounting program include:

  1. Management Information Systems

  2. Accounting Information Systems

  3. Accounting Information Technology

  4. Systems Analysis and Design

  5. Database Management

  6. Project Management System

  7. Business Process Fundamentals

The discussion was attended by lecturers from the Information Systems Division, the Head of the Accounting Department, the Secretary, and the Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Program. Dr. Emrinaldi, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA, the Head of the Accounting Department, stated that regular discussions are held periodically and are not limited to the Information Systems concentration but include all divisions. The Head of the Accounting Department emphasized the demands from the Faculty and the University, which require the Accounting Department to achieve an A (Excellent) accreditation in the future.

These demands are being met by the department through regular discussions to update the curriculum in line with the needs of the business and industrial world, as well as updating the course outlines (RPS) to reflect the latest references. Additionally, the Bachelor's Degree in Accounting program is undergoing international accreditation with FIBAA.
